Northern Michigan University, located in Marquette in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, piloted a food scrap composting program in the main residential dining hall – diverting over 10,000 pounds of food waste each month. NMU is exploring opportunities to expand the program across campus.

During NextCycle, the team will map the campus areas for potential collection systems and identify funding pathways.
