Great Lakes Tissue

Great Lakes Tissue (GLT) is a northern Michigan manufacturer of 100% recycled fiber content soft tissue products and a major employer in Cheboygan, MI on the shores of northern Lake Huron.  Operating since the early 1990’s after taking ownership of the plant from P&G, GLT has been producing over 67,000 rolls of toilet paper a day (700 cases) and has just expanded in early 2020 to increase this production by 4x.  GLT’s process uses pre- and post-consumer poly-coated aseptic and gable top paperboard cartons and paperboard cups as well as other poly-coated materials.  The expansion will increase their requirements for this recycled feedstock and also increase their residuals by-product production – a poly/al material and a fiber rich material.
