WMU

Western Michigan University Pilot Plants include a multi-ply paper machine, pilot scale coater, and large scale fiber recycling facility.  WMU’s Paper Pilot Plants are the go-to facility for both the Fibre Boxboard Association’s and How@Recylcle’s repulpability and recyclability test protocol and recyclable certification.  WMU has certified hundreds of products from around the world as recyclable; while helping companies innovate and select the materials in their products.  The pilot plant has been involved with WalMart’s Project Gigaton, NextGen Cup Challenge (Starbucks, McDonalds, Closed Loop Partners, etc.), NextCylcle Michigan Recycling Technology Track, and dozens of brands (under NDA); helping to promote and grow the sustainable paper products market and recyclability thereof.
