The Team: The city of Kalamazoo, with a population of over 73,000, is located in southwest Michigan between Detroit and Chicago. The project team includes three city staff members in a cross departmental collaboration.

NextCycle Michigan Project: The city of Kalamazoo plans to open a Recycling Drop-Off Super Center to give residents and businesses greater access to recycling services for materials not accepted at the curb, such as polystyrene foam, tires, plastics, electronics, and textiles. During NextCycle Michigan, the team will focus on determining the size and scope of the Super Center, aligning the project with potential partners and regional plans, and building the relationships needed to bring the recycling hub to life.
