The Team: Prairie Robotics specializes in advancing waste management through AI-driven solutions, specifically sophisticated camera systems on recycling trucks enabling real-time data collection and analysis. Initially focused on identifying contamination in recyclable materials, its scope is expanding to recognize and segregate reusable materials as well. Already in use in three cities across Michigan, its current product is a comprehensive waste management tool for cities that provides insights into recycling contamination.

NextCycle Michigan Project: The Prairie Robotics team is focusing on expanding from identifying contamination in the recycling stream to also identifying good materials to create a rewards based system. The team will work on connecting with potential clients in Michigan and quantifying GHG emissions prevention.
