Project Investments

Public and Private investments in recycling initiatives leading the way in building a circular economy.

To reach the State goal of a 45% diversion rate, a 2021 analysis projected a need of more than $1 billion to be invested in recycling and organics.

Real projects help make that happen with NextCycle Michigan building momentum for impact across the State and ensuring valuable projects get the support they need.

The pie charts on the right hand side of the map represent the projects that are shown on the map. Additional projects have been completed and are underway in the state, but are not shown for privacy reasons. This map shows how investments line up with disadvantaged communities across the state.
