Ottawa County's project is to promote not only the Environmental Sustainability Program’s composting program but composting in general. Food waste is a valuable resource that is often landfilled and Ottawa County’s Environmental Sustainability Program hopes to assist residents in diverting that resource from landfills and recovering it to be used again.
