Workshop: Innovation and Collaboration for Market Development
As we strive to increase recovery rates (and domestic commodity supplies), we must also strive to push local end market development forward. In the past, communities have been left to figure it out, but now we are seeing the use of collaborations and partnerships to spark innovation and investment. This workshop will share real world examples from NextCycle, a program facilitated by RRS, where municipalities, MRF operators, material processors and others come together to develop market solutions. Attendees will hear from teams that have experienced the NextCycle method and will then work through a mock scenario to identify recovery and end market gaps, brainstorm potential solutions, and conceptualize partnerships needed to turn the gaps into opportunities.
Speakers:
Elisa Seltzer, Senior Consultant, RRS
Juri Freeman, Principal, RRS
Matt Flechter, Recycling Market Development Specials, Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy
Madeline Walker Miller, Founder and CEO, NexTiles
