Association of Plastics Recyclers
The Association of Plastics Recyclers (APR), the voice of plastics recycling®, has developed a variety of programs to communicate the value of recycling plastics and develop both the supply and demand for these products. APR will partner with the Michigan Recycling Coalition to strengthen Michigan’s plastics circular economy. The project will focus on three key goals; 1) increase business and government demand for post-consumer recycled plastic products through promotion of and recruitment in APR’s Michigan Recycling Demand Champions Campaign, 2) train Michigan package design engineers at consumer brand companies and converters on The APR Design® Guide for Plastics Recyclability through the APR Design® Training Program to help create packaging that is fully compatible with domestic plastics recycling systems, and 3) develop and demonstrate an effective state level and regional level hub and spoke material collection system to increase the recovery of post-consumer mixed plastics.
