Manistique High School | Manistique, MI
The Team: Manistique High School, located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, serves students from the city of Manistique and the surrounding area. The project team includes a veteran Manistique teacher and students from the high school, as well as representatives from Zellar Sanitation, the Schoolcraft County Commissioners, and several partners from the recycling plant in Marquette.
NextCycle Michigan Project: The team aims to introduce single-stream recycling in Manistique by providing recycling carts to households in the city and utilizing drop-off locations in the rest of Schoolcraft County. Recyclable materials will be shipped to the Marquette material recovery facility (MRF). During NextCycle Michigan, the project team will focus on gathering information, developing a financial model, and building partnerships.
